Browser extension
Extension Privacy Policy.
Last updated: June 2026
The FileDroppr browser extension helps you upload PDFs to your FileDroppr account and create trackable share links. This policy explains what it handles. It covers the extension specifically; the main service is covered by our Terms & Privacy.
What the extension stores
- Your API key. Saved in your browser's local extension storage and sent only to
filedroppr.comas a bearer token to authenticate your requests. It is never sent anywhere else. - The last share link you created, stored locally for convenience.
The extension does not collect browsing history, analytics, or any personal information beyond the above.
What is sent off your device
Only the PDFs you choose to share - either a file you pick in the popup or a PDF link you right-click - are uploaded to your FileDroppr account over HTTPS. Nothing else leaves your device.
Host access
The extension's standing access is limited to filedroppr.com. When you right-click a PDF link to share it, the extension asks for one-time access to that site only, so it can download that single file for upload. It does not request or use access to other sites for any other purpose.
How uploaded files are handled
Uploaded PDFs are stored and served by FileDroppr under your account and your plan's settings (encryption at rest, expiry, password, and so on). See the main Terms & Privacy for details.
Data sharing
We do not sell your data or share it with third parties. The extension talks only to the FileDroppr API.
Removing your data
- Remove the stored API key by clearing it in the extension's options, or uninstalling the extension.
- Revoke the key anytime at your account → API keys.
- Delete uploaded files from the extension's "My files" tab or in the app.
