Google Workspace add-on

Workspace Add-on Privacy Policy.

Last updated: June 2026

The FileDroppr add-on for Google Slides and Google Docs exports the document you have open as a PDF and uploads it to your FileDroppr account, returning a secure, trackable share link - without leaving Google. This policy explains exactly what the add-on accesses and sends. The main service is covered by our Terms & Privacy.

What the add-on accesses

  • Only the file you open it on. The add-on uses the drive.file scope, which grants per-file access to the single document you are working in - granted on demand when you create a link. It cannot see or browse the rest of your Google Drive.
  • A connection to your FileDroppr account. You connect once via FileDroppr's OAuth sign-in; the add-on holds a token to create files in your account on your behalf.

What is sent off Google

Only the PDF export of the document you choose to share is sent, over HTTPS, to filedroppr.com so it can be stored in your FileDroppr account and given a trackable link. The add-on does not send your document anywhere else, and does not transmit any other Drive content.

Scopes the add-on requests

  • drive.file - to read the open document so it can be exported as a PDF.
  • script.external_request - to upload that PDF to the FileDroppr API.
  • script.locale - to display the add-on in your locale.

The add-on requests no broad Drive access and reads no document other than the one you run it on.

How uploaded files are handled

Uploaded PDFs are stored and served by FileDroppr under your account and your plan's settings (AES-256-GCM encryption at rest, expiry, password protection, and so on), and readership is measured without ever storing a visitor's IP address. See the main Terms & Privacy for details.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data or share it with third parties. The add-on communicates only with Google (to export the open file) and the FileDroppr API (to upload it). FileDroppr's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing your data

  • Disconnect the add-on from within its panel, or uninstall it from Google Workspace.
  • Revoke FileDroppr's access anytime at your account, and Google access at your Google account permissions.
  • Delete uploaded files from your FileDroppr account at any time.
